Jim Townhill currently works as a chiropractor at the Back-in-Action chiropractic clinic in Penwortham, Preston, treating a variety of condition from back and neck pain to headaches and general health problems. He spent 9 years as an Army officer, in this capacity he found himself playing Rugby in Australia when attached to the Australian Army. He sustained an injury there which made him seek chiropractic care and was so impressed with the results that he decided to resign his commission and become one. He has maintained a strong interest in sport which has led him to help coach sessions at Tri Preston Triathlon club and compete in the World long distance Triathlon Championships as part of the Great Britain Age group team in Australia 2006.
The first thing I would say about Paul is that he is very good at what he does! I approached the whole thing as a bit of an experiment. A former Army officer who had changed career and was happily practicing as a chiropractor and I undertook the course of coaching as a trial to see if it would be worth recommending to my patients, rather more than I felt I had issues to deal with.
However I can honestly say I get much more out of it than I ever expected. Paul has a keen insight into people and has a variety of tools at his disposal to help people unlock motives and goals. He also has a keen intuition and an open and affable manner which makes him a good practitioner. I found him easy to talk to and very skilful at guiding me towards their own conclusions rather than giving them the answers.
Paul has helped me greatly improve my professional reflective skills and also helped me develop my career goals. Amongst other things it has had a noticeable effect on my sports performance as an amateur triathlete who has competed for the Great Britain long distance triathlon age group squad in Australia in 2006
