Johnny Fuller

Johnny is the most recent addition to the City Therapy staff - bringing with him a wealth of experience having spent much of his professional and personal life in and around elite level sport.

As an ex international swimmer, Johnny is acutely aware of the demands that sport and exercise can have on the human body and the importance of facilitating a successful and safe return to physical activity as soon as possible following injury. In his current role, Johnny now combines his own personal experiences with his knowledge and understanding of Sports Therapy - allowing him to employ a range of effective techniques to successfully assess, treat and rehabilitate his clients.

After graduating from Loughborough University in 1999, with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science, Johnny was initially appointed as a lecturer of ‘Principles & Practice of Sport’ at the University of Chester. Following his retirement from competitive swimming in 2002, Johnny joined the Cheshire Constabulary where he served as a Police Officer for 6 years. Throughout that period, Johnny also worked closely with British Swimming in a coaching and sport science support capacity - a position which he would develop further after leaving the Police in 2008 in addition to a role in a private Exercise & Health Promotion consultancy.

Within these two roles, Johnny was given the opportunity to work with individuals of all physical abilities (from Olympic athletes through to recovering Drug/Alcohol dependants) and he soon recognised that his passion and skill set were ideally suited to a full time career in Sports Therapy. So, after qualifying as an advanced therapist with the Active Health Group, he was approached by City Therapy and became the newest member on the staff roster in early 2011.

Johnny continues to swim each day, plays football twice a week and is a regular at his local gym. He has run the London Marathon twice and has recently completed his first Olympic distance triathlon.
